Film launch

The film, 'Land: a labour of life' will be launched 6-8pm Friday 1st April in Gilmorehill Cinema, 9 University Avenue, Glasgow, G12 8QQ. The film documents the research undertaken by Paul Stewart and Brian Garvey of the Department of Human Resource Management, Paul Tuohy, Elsa João and Catalina Silva-Plata of the Engineering School with Brazilian partners from the Federal University of Goiás and several community and labour organisations. The film is being hosted by Common Weal and focuses on challenges and opportunities for work and employment linked to new energy technologies and debates on land and agrarian reform in Scotland and Brazil.

The Expansion of New Frontiers for Renewable Energy: effects, conflicts and alternatives for populations in spaces of socio-environmental vulnerability

The Department of Human Resource Management, University of Strathclyde and the Institute of Socio-Environmental Studies, Federal University of Goiás will be inviting up to 20 early stage researchers from the UK and 20 from Brazil to participate in this upcoming workshop that is funded by the British Council with FAPEG.
